Wisdom Teeth Removal in Upstate SC

At Nickles Dental Oral Surgery and Family Dentistry, we understand the importance of timely wisdom teeth evaluation and removal. Our state-of-the-art facility in the Upstate SC area offers comprehensive wisdom teeth services, including in-office CT scans, and we will show the position of your wisdom teeth on a monitor for precise evaluation. We recommend assessments around age 16 to ensure optimal timing for potential removal.

What are wisdom teeth? Wisdom teeth are the final set of permanent molars, typically erupting in the late teens or early twenties. While they can be beneficial if properly aligned, they are often misaligned due to a lack of space in the jaw, which can lead to complications.

Why should wisdom teeth be removed? Misaligned wisdom teeth can cause crowding and shifting of other teeth, leading to bite misalignment. Impacted teeth are especially difficult to clean, increasing the risk of decay and cavities. They may also cause tightness, stiffness, and difficulty in jaw movement, along with pain, swelling, redness, or even abscess formation. In many cases, early removal is recommended, as it is easier and safer before the roots fully develop.

With over 30 years of experience, Nickles Dental is committed to providing exceptional care. Contact us today to schedule your wisdom teeth consultation today.
