Crowns and Bridges Services
At Nickles Dental Oral Surgery and Family Dentistry, we specialize in providing top-tier crowns and bridges to restore your smile's beauty and functionality. Dental crowns are custom-made, tooth-colored caps that cover the entire visible portion of a tooth. They’re commonly used to restore the shape, size, strength, and appearance of teeth that are damaged or weakened. Bonded in place using dental adhesive, crowns are carefully designed to mimic the look and function of natural teeth, providing both aesthetic and structural benefits.
Dental crowns are used for a variety of restorative and cosmetic purposes. They help protect weak, cracked, or chipped teeth and can rebuild teeth that are severely decayed or broken. Crowns are also used to cover discolored or stained teeth, offering a cosmetic enhancement that blends naturally with your smile. In addition to restoring individual teeth, crowns play a key role in dental implant procedures and are often used to anchor dental bridges, helping to restore full functionality and appearance.
Here are the types of crowns we offer:
- All porcelain crowns: Most natural-looking; strong and durable
- Stainless steel crowns: Temporary protection; commonly used for children’s primary teeth
- Metal crowns: Made from gold or platinum alloys; strong and ideal for back molars
- Porcelain fused to metal crowns:
A Blend of aesthetics and strength, suitable for front and back teeth
- All resin crowns: Aesthetic option for front teeth; good for patients with metal allergies
Dental bridges are restorations used to fill gaps left by missing teeth, helping to restore both function and appearance. They consist of crowns placed on the adjacent teeth—called abutments—with a false tooth, or pontic, positioned in between. The bridge is bonded securely to the neighboring teeth, creating a stable and natural-looking solution for tooth loss.
Here are the types of bridges we offer:
- Traditional bridges: Crown on each side of the gap with a false tooth in between
- Cantilever bridges: Used when only one adjacent tooth is available
- Maryland bonded bridges: Conservative option using a metal framework bonded to the back of adjacent teeth
